A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Thank you for joining us for Elevé Arts Academy’s 2nd Annual Spring Recital! We are thrilled to be holding our show in the WSU Austad Theater to showcase the progress of over 120 dancers in a professional setting. Many thanks to the WSU staff, Elevé instructors, and for the many volunteers who are working behind the scenes to put on this show.

Tonight we are thrilled to present a celebration of film music from the soundtracks that have stuck with us through time. From the powerful drives of Hans Zimmer to the nostalgic work of John Williams, and many other incredible composers, their compositions take us back to a time and place. They evoke feeling and scene. As dance is the visualization of music, each of the dances presented tonight are meant to represent how each choreographer imagined that music could be made physical. How it could showcase the context and content of the film.

We look forward to sharing Let’s Go to the Movies with you. Enjoy the show!

THEATER ETIQUETTE

Kindly turn your phone to silent and refrain from using it for anything other than viewing the program. Photography and videography during the show is not allowed; it is distracting to audience members and dancers.

When applauding your dancer, clapping hands is sufficient. Please do not yell your dancer’s name as it takes attention away from the piece they are performing.

Please remain in your seat until the end of the show unless you are attending to a disruptive child or another urgent need. This helps to show support for all dancers performing.
