ELEVÉ DANCE CLASSES
Whether you’re exploring many different types of dance or already have a specific genre in mind, we’re confident you’ll find a dance class you’ll love at our Syracuse studio. Classes are typically once or twice per week, range from 30-90 minutes, and vary by age group from toddlers to adults. We try to limit our class sizes so you or your child gets the attention they need to succeed. If you’re interested in taking multiple classes, we offer a multi-class and multi-student discount on tuition. Get started by browsing through our list of available classes below.
ACRO
Acro is a form of tumbling taught to incorporate tricks into dance choreography. Acro dancers learn traditional tumbling skills while working on their flexibility, building strength, and developing overall coordination.
BALLET
Elevé's Ballet technique classes contain all the traditional elements of a Ballet class: barre, center, and across the floor. Each of these elements will be taught through our tested and tried Ballet curriculum based on the needs of your dancer’s specific level.
CONTEMPORARY
Contemporary dance is a mix of many different dance genres, including Ballet, Jazz, and Modern. Dancers in this class will be led through Contemporary technique concepts like ground work, fall and recovery, inversion, and contraction.
CREATIVE MOVEMENT
Creative Movement provides an exciting first solo dance opportunity for girls and boys. Classes consist of basic dance skills incorporated with developmental concepts for this age group, including gross and fine motor skills, verbalizing ideas, and learning how to interact in a classroom setting.
HIP HOP
Hip Hop dance is an energetic and expressive street dance style that emerged in the 1970s, using a series of bounces and rocks performed with rhythm and syncopation. It’s an upbeat way for kids to combine exercise, creativity, and fun while developing coordination and confidence.
JAZZ
This upbeat class teaches traditional Jazz techniques of isolation, contraction, and percussiveness. In addition, dancers will work on musicality, theatricality, and expressiveness as they learn a variety of kicks, turns, and leaps!
TAP
Tap teaches dancers not only to hear and feel the music in their movement but to create rhythms with their feet. We cover the fundamental technique and vocabulary for Tap, including shuffle, flap, stomp, and stamp. Skills will get progressively more challenging as the school year goes on.
ADULT CLASSES
Stay active, relieve stress, and enjoy the many benefits of dance beyond your childhood days. Adult Dance classes are currently offered in contemporary, tap, and beginning / intermediate ballet. Drop in when you’re able and pay per class, or enroll monthly for a consistent schedule and better rate.
PRIVATE LESSONS
Private lessons are available upon request for students looking to sharpen their skills, prepare for an audition, or who prefer a more focused setting. One-on-one time with our teachers is the absolute best way to help you or your child improve and achieve their dance-related goals.

RECREATIONAL DANCE PROGRAM
Debuting during the 2025-2026 school year, this program is meant for the dancer who would like to learn skills in dance without committing to the Leveled Program requirements. Dancers are able to pick and choose what classes suit their interests and schedule. This program encompasses all classes not included in the Leveled Program; ages 18 months to 18 years.
LEVELED DANCE PROGRAM
Elevé’s Leveled Dance Program is meant for students ready to commit to developing their dance skills. This program begins in Kindergarten and takes dancers all the way to 12th grade. Dancers in Level 1 are required to take Ballet and strongly encouraged to take another technique class. Dancers in Levels 2 - 5 are required to take at least two technique classes each week; one must be Ballet, and the other can be Jazz, Contemporary, or another Ballet class. While focused on technical excellence, dancers are also instructed in creative skills of composition and improvisation.
WHY FAMILIES CHOOSE ELEVÉ ARTS ACADEMY
EXPERIENCED INSTRUCTORS
Faculty includes university graduates with dedicated degrees in Dance or Dance Education, and teachers with decades of combined experience and directing high school programs. Meet our teachers here.
SMALL CLASS SIZES
Every dancer deserves the attention of their instructor. By limiting our class size to a maximum of 12 students per teacher, we can provide the best, individualized care necessary to build proper technique and connection.
POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT
We believe dance should increase one’s confidence, not tear it down. To do that, we focus on providing a safe space, positive reinforcement, healthy friendships, and age-appropriate choreography, music, and costuming
PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES
What would be a performing art without the performance? We prepare students from a young age by giving them a high-quality performance experience each year with our recitals in a professional caliber venue.
ALL AGES & SKILLS
Jumping into a new dance class can feel intimidating, especially if you don’t have prior dancing experience. It shouldn’t be that way. Eleve offers something for everyone, ages 6 months to 18 years and older.
NON COMPETITIVE
You don’t have to join a competitive dance studio to really excel. Instead of spending weekends traveling to costly competitions, we want our students to focus entirely on artistic growth, technique, and the pure joy of dance.
STANDING OVATIONS
As a local Syracuse business, we’re grateful for all the kind words and 5-star Google reviews shared about our dance studio. We strive to hold ourselves to high standards of excellence every day. We love what we do, and we hope you and your students enjoy it too!
“We have participated in a variety of classes at Elevé for my 4-year-old. Dance is her favorite part of the week, and we have seen improvement in her behavior and motor skills since joining! The teachers are very skilled, patient, loving, and professional. I can’t believe we are getting such high quality at such a low price.”
“Cannot recommend Elevé enough! The range of classes, options, and amazing staff deserves all the recognition! Any negative dance experience by my kids (and as a parent) has been replaced by good memories by going to Elevé. Love that it isn’t a studio only focused on one type of dance. My son loves having his own class (like his sisters) with boys creative movement. My girls love little ballerina, creative movement, and now music class.”
“I’ve enrolled all of my kids at Elevé- my 8-year-old down to my 2-year-old. Jeneca encourages creativity, movement, technique, and excellence, all in an environment that is very positive and child-centered. I love watching them dance here!”
“We love Elevé! They are a professional studio while remaining fun for kids. As a parent of many littles, I am often concerned with the amount of pressure put on my kids to be the best and most talented... To be good and successful at anything these days, it seems you have to enroll your child in some kind of rigorous competitive nature for them to succeed. Elevé has changed that narrative for me and helped me see my children can succeed and genuinely enjoy what they do without having be on competition teams.”
DANCE CLASS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Class lengths vary depending on the age group and style of dance to ensure lessons are engaging and developmentally appropriate. Typically, our preschool and toddler classes run for 30 to 45 minutes, while our leveled classes for older children and teens run from 60 to 90 minutes. You can view the exact length of each specific class on our current schedule.
-
Our Recreational Program dance classes meet once a week while the faster paced Leveled Program classes are scheduled two to three times per week. Because we are a non-competitive studio, this schedule allows our dancers to receive exceptional technical training and prepare for our end-of-year performance without taking over your family's weekdays or weekends.
-
Tuition is based on the specific program and the total number of hours your dancer takes per week. We strive to keep our pricing straightforward and family-friendly. -
We believe that when a student comes dressed to learn, they will have more success in their training. Both individually and as a team. The attire you wear to class depends on the genre you are taking. For example, ballet girls should wear skin colored tights and shoes with a black leotard.
For a complete guide about what to wear (and not wear), please review our student Attire Policy.

Performances are not required. But that is one of the best parts of being a dancer so all students are encouraged to participate. If you would like to opt out of the recital, you need to let us know by December 20th.
-
Yes, absolutely! We invite anyone who wants to join to jump right in when they’re ready, provided there is still space available in their desired class. To ensure your child can comfortably learn the choreography and participate in our end-of-year showcase, we typically have a final enrollment cutoff for the recital season. Open enrollment for our summer classes begins each spring!
